Hijacking History:
The National African-American Museum Scam

In February, 2001, during his reelection campaign, Mayor Stephen Reed made the surprise  announcement that the National Museum of African-American History would be built at Sixth and Boas Streets in Harrisburg.

A year later Reed unveiled an artist's conception of the exterior of the museum.  But he still doesn't know what it will cost, how it will be funded or how long it will take to be built.  There's been no opportunity for public discussion of the proposal.

There are a lot of questions . . . and we're not afraid to ask them.   We're also not afraid to reveal what's really going on. It has very little to do with paying homage to the heritage of African-Americans.

National Museum of African-American History in Harrisburg?
What Steve Reed isn't telling us...why the "National" museum will never be built in Harrisburg.

Location, Location, Location
Who and what is behind the Mayor's site selection for the museum . . . it isn't black history.

Hijacking Black History
"If you build it, they will come," but it won't be to a museum . . . here's the secret plan.

The Right Location for the African-American Museum
There is only one location suitable for a black history museum . . . but the Mayor doesn't seem to want it there.

Antoun Rewrites History
For someone championing African-American history, Annette Antoun is quite willing to distort that history when it suits her own ends.

Half-truths and Pandering
On July 3, 2002 Annette confirmed what we have long maintained:  She is the driving force behind the museum plan.  But as typical, she is only telling part of the story.

Chair of Museum Board calls Antoun's site "wrong location"
Appointed by Reed to chair the museum project, Fred Clark says he will quit if unless the site is changed.
