City Officer Arrested For Giving
Confidential DRUG Info To Former Boyfriend

The Paxton Herald, December 22, 1999, page 1

Mayor Stephen R. Reed has reported that a Harrisburg City Police Officer has been arrested by Pennsylvania Police State Police on two criminal counts relating to the Officer's of illegal use of confidential and investigatory information.

The Police Officer, a female, is charged with giving confidential computer information about DRUGS to her former boyfriend. Her former boyfriend was under Police investigation for drug-related crimes.

Mayor Reed said that the eight year veteran an of the City’s Uniformed Patrol was arrested by State Police on one felony count for unlawful use of a computer and one misdemeanor charge.

Reed said the charges against the Officer involved her alleged illegal access to confidential police investigatory, files, providing the information to "unauthorized persons”.

City Police first learned of the allegations in mid-November, and immediately referred the Case to the Office of’ Dauphin County District Attorney, and the PA State Police. An internal Harrisburg Police investigation  has also been conducted and the female Officer was suspended from the Force in November. The officer was arraigned before District Justice Solomon recently and Solomon released woman on $5,000 bail.

(Editor’s Note: In view of the “tough” fines that  Justice Solomon has given to other people for seemingly minor infractions of City Codes, painting, etc., $5,000 bail for such a SERIOUS OFFENSE to be VERY, VERY LOW! Perhaps District Justice Joseph Solomon should reevaluate his priorities!.)

Mayor Stephen R Reed is to congratulated for not following in the footsteps of his predecessors!

The Paxton Herald knows for a fact that many former Police Authorities and former Mayors before Reed, covered up wrong-doing in the Police Department

People were beat up kicked, stomped on, and injured in many ways... plus the Ku Klux Klan signs were allowed to be posted in the old City Hall.  Not only that, but stolen goods were transferred from one police car to another right in back of the old City Hall.  It was kept quiet.

Again, congratulations to Mayor Reed!
